I agree with most of his conclusions. However, he fails to mention that the business users share a portion of the blame as well. IT is mainly a facilitator of ideas and needs from business operations. If the business does not “have their shit together” the facilitator can never be sucessful.

Great video from my namesake! Totally agree. Fads are bad.

We suffer from them all the time where I am and northing changes.

Another awesome video from John. I so agree with this whole fad thing. Unfortunately they are usually here today and gone tomorrow. Why people follow them I don’t understand.

There is a very simple solution, as you say - Model the right thing FIRST!
